Parking Lot Lab1. The most diverse parking lot was the student parking lot. I predicted tht because there are more cars in the student parking lot that it would be more diverse. Therefore it was a coorect hpothesis and it supported the results.
2.In the student parking lot the most abudent species was the chevy car brand. In the teacher parking lot the car brand Ford was the most abundant. 3. The maximnum Shannon diversity value is 2.404 in the student parking lot, the miminum value is 2.373 in the teacher parking lot. 4. If this lab was conducted in a mall parking lot the diversity would be very high. 5. If this lab was conducted in a new car dealership the diversity would be very low. Woolly Worms LabA) The degrees of freedom is 6.
B) skip C) The chi-square value is 40.06. D) It was not by chance that certain worms were chosen compared to others E) The Shaggy worms were subjected to positive selection pressure because they were able to blend in more with the surroundings. The Shrek woolly worm had a negative selection because it was chosen the most and stood out from the surroundings because it was bright lime green that was bigger and fuzzy. F)The results indicate that the colored ones will soon die out and go extinct, while rthe green ones have adapted to the surroundings and will be able to blend in to the surrounds. G) The brighter the color the easier it is for predators to spot the worms and so those types will die out. While the worms that are green or other colors that blend into the surroundings will be able to survive. H) Over a period of time the red and colorful worms will be extinct because they stand out in the habitat of the school grounds, while the green ones will now populate the area and be dominate. |
